Tempeh preparation tips

Not sure how to make tempeh your customers will actually enjoy? Here’s a super helpful guide for making delicious tempeh.

Boiling – Boil tempeh with 2 tablespoons of salt per 8 cups of water for 10 minutes to infuse flavor, add structure and remove bitterness.

Baked – Bake in the oven in a single layer at 400°F for 12-15 minutes, flip, repeat.

Air fried – Air fry in a single layer at 375°F for 8-10 minutes, shake, repeat.

Pan fried – Cook over medium-high heat in a single layer. Cook undisturbed for 4 minutes. Flip and cook for 2 more minutes.

Deep fried – Maintain oil at 340-355°F. Fry in small batches for 3-5 minutes. Ready when golden and floating.

Braised – Sauté aromatics, add seasoned liquid and bring to a gentle simmer. Cover and cook 10-30 minutes.
