Research
- Audit your school’s current plant-based options.
- Explore your school’s public sustainability and plant-based menu goals.
- Look into what neighboring schools are doing in the plant-based realm.
- Conduct a survey amongst your peers to showcase demand.
Connect
- Start with friends and peers who have the same values.
- Engage with relevant school clubs (sustainability, animal rights, vegan
- clubs, etc.).
- Start your own sustainability group or veg club at your school.
- Connect with sustainability teachers or leaders, your campus dietitian or health and wellness director, and your school’s dining leadership team.
Act
- Interact with your school’s social media posts by liking and commenting on their food posts.
- Submit suggestions through your school’s dining or cafeteria feedback system.
- Meet with your dining staff. Remember to always be polite, respectful, and gracious for staffs’ time.
- Encourage your dining team to set a goal through the Forward Food Pledge.
- Offer to help your dining team organize a sampling and feedback table.
- Suggest plant-based recipes from our online recipe database.
