Everything but the bagel scones

Ingredients

For scone dough

  • 3 cups Flour, all-purpose
  • 1/4 cup Seasoning mix, everything bagel
  • 1/4 cup Sugar, white, granulated
  • 2 tablespoons Baking powder
  • 1/2 cup Non-dairy butter, cubed and chilled
  • 1 3/4 cup Non-dairy cream, heavy

For baking

  • 4 teaspoons Non-dairy cream, heavy
  • 4 teaspoons Seasoning mix, everything bagel

Instructions

For scone dough

  • In the bowl of a stand mixer, combine all flour, seasoning mix, sugar and baking powder.
  • Using a paddle attachment, cut butter in to dry ingredients until the mixture resembles corn meal.
  • Add cream to dry mixture, using a dough hook attachment. Combine until dough is shaggy and has some dry spots.
  • Turn mixture onto to table and finish dough by gently folding repeatedly until dough looks uniform. Do not over mix.
  • Roll out dough to 1" thick, cut with a 2.5" biscuit cutter. To re-roll leftover pieces, layer all scraps and then repeat process.

For baking

  • Preheat oven to 375°F. Add scones to a parchment lined sheet pan, brush with cream and sprinkle with everything seasoning. Bake for 20-25 minutes, rotating half way through baking, until golden brown.
